In order to maximize your candles performance, we advise the following
Set Your Burn Memory
During your first burn, burn your jar candle for approximately 2 hours or until the entire surface has liquefied. This will allow the candle to melt to the edges of the surface, ensuring the candle burns evenly all the way to the bottom, rather than tunnelling through the centre.
Do not burn any candle for more than 4 hours.
Trim Your Wick
Trim your wick to 5mm prior to each burn. Untrimmed wicks will result in a larger and unstable flame, leading to blackened jars from excess soot release. Trimming your wick will also prevent falling wicks, causing uneven burns and cracked jars. Do not burn candles in cracked or damaged jars.
Safely Extinguish Your Flame
Safely extinguish your candle flame by using a Candle Snuffer. Blowing out a candle flame creates the potential for hot wax spatter on surrounding surfaces and people. Using a candle snuffer will minimize this hazard, as well as lessen the smoke released.
We recommend extinguishing any candle when there is approximately 10mm of wax left in the jar. Burning the wax all the way to the bottom of the jar creates the potential for the glass to overheat and crack, as well as scorching of the surface underneath. For added safety, we recommend using the timber lid of our Full Moon Candles as a holder underneath the jar when lit.
Candles should be placed on stable and heat resistant surfaces.
Keep lit candles away from draughts, ceiling fans and any air currents, as well as at least 65cm from flammable objects and 10cm from other candles.
Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
Never leave a burning candle unattended and extinguish all candles when you leave a room or before going to sleep.
